Privacy Policy — Scars
This Privacy Policy explains how the Scarsies Team ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects data in connection with the Discord bot "Scars" (the "Bot", "Service"). We are based in the Czech Republic, European Union, and process data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
1. Data We Collect
To provide Scars' utility features, we may collect and store:
- Discord identifiers: user IDs, server (guild) IDs, channel IDs, and role IDs, as needed for the Bot's features to function correctly within a server.
- Server configuration data: settings and preferences configured by server administrators (e.g., enabled features, custom settings).
- Message content and logs: message content and related metadata that is directly processed by the features you use (for example, command inputs, or content relevant to logging/utility features). We only collect message content necessary for the specific feature being used — we do not read or store messages unrelated to Bot functionality.
We do not collect passwords, payment information, or Discord account credentials — we never have access to these.
2. How We Use Data
Collected data is used solely to:
- Operate and provide the features of Scars;
- Maintain server-specific configurations;
- Diagnose and fix technical issues;
- Enforce these Terms and prevent abuse of the Bot.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your data to third parties, and we do not use collected data for advertising purposes.
3. Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)
We process data under the following legal bases:
- Legitimate interest — to operate, maintain, and improve the Bot's core functionality.
- Consent — where you or a server administrator has enabled optional features that require additional data processing.
- Contractual necessity — to provide the Service as agreed to under our Terms of Service.
4. Data Storage & Security
Data is stored on secure servers/databases with access limited to those necessary for maintaining and operating the Bot. We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect stored data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of storage or transmission is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain data only for as long as necessary to provide the Bot's features or as required by the server administrator's configuration. Data associated with a server is generally deleted within a reasonable period after Scars is removed from that server. You may request earlier deletion at any time (see Section 7).
6. Data Sharing
We do not share your data with third parties, except:
- Where required by law, legal process, or governmental request;
- With service providers strictly necessary to host or operate the Bot (e.g., hosting/database providers), who are bound by confidentiality obligations;
- To protect the rights, safety, or property of the Scarsies Team, our users, or others.
7. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:
- Access the data we hold about you;
- Rectify inaccurate data;
- Erase your data ("right to be forgotten");
- Restrict or object to certain processing;
- Data portability, where technically feasible;
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us via our support server (see Section 9). We will respond within the timeframes required by GDPR.
8. Children's Privacy
Scars is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 13, consistent with Discord's own minimum age policy. We do not knowingly collect data from users below this age beyond what Discord itself provides through normal Bot operation.

10. Changes to This Policy
