Terms of Service — Scars
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Discord bot "Scars" (the "Service", "Bot"), operated by the Scarsies Team ("we", "us", "our"), based in the Czech Republic, European Union. By inviting Scars to a Discord server, or by interacting with Scars in any server, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use Scars, in line with Discord's own minimum age requirement. If you are using Scars on behalf of a Discord server, you confirm that you have the authority to agree to these Terms on behalf of that server and its members.
2. Description of Service
Scars is a free, general-purpose utility bot for Discord, providing a range of utility and multipurpose features within Discord servers. We may add, modify, or remove features at any time without prior notice.
3. No Paid Features
Scars is provided entirely free of charge. There are currently no premium tiers, paid subscriptions, or in-bot purchases. Should this change in the future, these Terms will be updated accordingly and users will be notified through our support server.
4. Acceptable Use
When using Scars, you agree not to:
- Use the Bot to violate Discord's Terms of Service or Community Guidelines;
- Use the Bot to harass, abuse, threaten, or harm any person or group;
- Attempt to exploit, reverse-engineer, disrupt, or overload the Bot or its infrastructure;
- Use the Bot for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable local, national, or international law;
- Attempt to bypass any rate limits, permission checks, or security measures built into the Bot.
We reserve the right to restrict, suspend, or block access to Scars for any server or user found violating these Terms.
5. Data Collection
Scars collects and stores certain data necessary for its functionality, including Discord user and server identifiers, as well as message content and logs relevant to the features used. Full details of what is collected, why, and how it is handled are described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Availability
We aim to keep Scars available and functioning reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or continuous operation. The Bot may be temporarily or permanently unavailable due to maintenance, technical issues, Discord API changes or outages, or other circumstances beyond our control.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Scars is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Bot will meet your requirements or be error-free.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Scarsies Team shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, revenue, or goodwill, arising out of or related to your use of, or inability to use, Scars.
9. Termination
We reserve the right to terminate or restrict your access to Scars, or remove the Bot from your server, at any time and for any reason, including violation of these Terms, without prior notice.
You may stop using Scars at any time by removing it from your Discord server.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced via our support server. Continued use of Scars after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Czech Republic and applicable European Union law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Czech Republic, unless mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
